The origins of VTC
The Vlaamse Taxi Centrale has its foundation at Taxi Gilbert. Dennis Vankemmel, founder of Taxi Gilbert, entered the industry in the 1990s. During that time, he built a true taxi landscape in South-West Flanders.
The name "Taxi Gilbert" is still known to practically every resident of Kortrijk and its surroundings. Mainly characterised by punctuality, transparency and precision.
In October 2019, GV Group BV took over and is primarily committed to digitalising, simplifying and optimising the taxi landscape. Our goal: offering efficient, modern and user-friendly taxi services, so every customer enjoys a comfortable and smooth ride.

In 2023, VTC switched to a different software package with multi-company settings. This allows other taxi companies (fleets of 3 or more vehicles) in Flanders to benefit from the technological developments the taxi industry has to offer — without heavy investments.
